Poco - Month Three.
It is amazing to see how much Poco has grown since we got her. This is her when she was only with us for one week. This period was primarily mentally exhausting for us since she would have to go to the bathroom 5 times a night.
We crate trained Poco from the first day we got her. I slept on the couch for almost the first month to be less disruptive to Zoe when bringing Poco outside to relieve herself in the middle of the night.
Poco could not regulate her temperature, so she was hot - all the time. She would put both her paws in her water bowl after she drank her water to help cool her off. We would give her ice cubes to play with and she loved it; it was not uncommon to see her passed out in the bowl of ice. However, despite being hot, she loved to sleep on couches; she claimed a bean bag as her own the minute we unpacked it.
Poco is very also smart. She learned a dozen or so tricks, relatively quickly. Unfortunately, she is very stubborn where she would howl at you in protest if she didn't want to do something. I'm pretty sure I encouraged it by arguing with her.
She also had a great temperament. She didn't mind being held or handled. She would normally act as a stuffed bear when we would pick her up. There was a phase where she disliked it, but that was short lived. She also loves meeting new strangers and dogs. I don't think we've ever heard her bark or shown any level of aggression to a stranger.
